Triumph Tiger “Boy Racer” (1971) by Grease Monkey

Grease Monkey è officina, agenzia creativa, fucina artistica e tutta Italiana. Proprio tra le sue mura ha preso forma Boy Racer: metà bobber e metà opera d’arte con una componentistica che, non si direbbe al primo sguardo, è di gran qualità e iper tecnologica.
Sono poche infatti le moto a telaio rigido e iniezione elettronica e, sebbene possa sembrare un paradosso, ci limitiamo a dire che la fantasia dei preparatori è per fortuna senza limiti, e che Boy Racer è una delle più belle contraddizioni su due ruote che ci sia mai capitato di osservare.

[Grease Monkey is half workshop and half creative agency. Its Boy Racer is half bobber and half piece of art. The first time you see it, you don’t realize but Boy Racer is a super technological vehicle: few bikes, in fact, have a rigid frame and the electronic injection, especially on this side of the Atlantic Ocean. Even though this mix sounds like a paradox, Boy Racer is one of the most beautiful contradictions on two wheels we have ever observed].

Sotto il fine lavoro di pinstriping di serbatoio e fianchetti, troviamo il glorioso bicilindrico parallelo della casa di Hinckley che ha fatto impazzire tutti, da Marlon Brando a Steve McQueen a molti altri, una forcella accorciata di 30 mm e un set di ruote da 19 all’anteriore e 18 al posteriore, pronte per essere sostituite con delle 21/16 per un look meno bobber e più classico.
