Honda FMX 650 “Muxima” by Ton-Up Garage

Le monocilindriche Honda stanno sostituendo le gloriose CB e Four come base per la preparazione di moto speciali, soprattutto quando l’impostazione del ferro dei nostri sogni è più dirt / scrambler che café / brat style. Ma invece di fare i fighi con questi termini da bar, andiamo bene a capire che cosa hanno fatto quei drittoni di Ton-Up (di cui abbiamo già ammirato la loro famosa R 45 Scrambler).

La base di partenza non è la solita Dominator (ce ne sono ancora in giro?), ma una più recente supermotard: la FMX 650. Il cliente è un signore Portoghese che vive in Angola e che vuole utilizzare la sua special non solo per le incasinatissime strade di Luanda, la capitale, ma anche per concedersi qualche gita fuori porta, e magari qualche pista sabbiosa.

[The donor motorcycle is not the usual Dominator, but a more recent supermotard model: the FMX 650. The client is a Portuguese guy who lives in Angola and wants to use this bike not only for commuting around town, but also for some dirt riding in the sand].

Avete mai provato un mono Honda? Il motore è fantastico: pieno di coppia e con un allungo che non ci si aspetterebbe. Le uniche modifiche hanno riguardato gli scarichi e il filtro dell’aria, un ottimo K&N a prova di sabbia. Forti di una base a prova a di manico, i preparatori di Ton-Up si sono concentrati sull’estetica e sui colori e… che dire? A noi piace da matti, ma aspettiamo il vostro giudizio!
P.s. “Muxima” è il nome di un villaggio Angolano e significa “cuore” in Kimbundu.

[Have you ever tried a single-cylinder Honda? The engine is amazing: it is torqueful and fast, everything every rider wishes to find in a motorcycle. The most important modifications regarded the exhaust and the air filter which is a sand-proof K&N. Ton-Up guys focused above all on the aesthetic features and, yes, we can say they did a fantastic job with the lines and colors of this bike.
